I’ve just ordered my 4th one of these. The same model used to be in stores, blue in color, and did not come with the curl/finger attachment. When I couldn’t find it anymore I went on an internet search, and found what I thought was “close.” Imagine my jubilation when I opened the box and found it was the SAME good old dryer, only red!
What I like:
-It’s smaller than most dryers, and it folds, so it fits in a small drawer AND it’s great for travel.
-It’s plenty powerful with 1875 watts.
-It has dual voltage so it can go around the world. (You have to turn the screw-type indicator using a tool or a dime, and then you need a plug adapter but no voltage converter.)
-It’s much quieter than any other dryer I can find with all the other good things. NOT silent, mind you, but MUCH quieter.
There’s nothing I don’t like but I’d like to address others’ complaints:
1. The buzz: my 2nd one started buzzing after I’d had it for a couple of years. It scared me at first (didn’t know if it was shorting out or what) but seemed not to be harmful. So I continued to use it while I searched for a replacement. That’s when I discovered I couldn’t find the same dryer any more and then found it here. So I guess a few of them will buzz eventually. If it buzzed out of the box, I’d return it.
2. Short life: not mine, they’ve all lasted several years. The one that croaked after a month must have been built on a Monday? Conair is a fairly reliable brand and I doubt this happens to a significant % of units.
3. It’s not “ionic.” I had one of those alleged ionic ones before, and I didn’t see one bit of difference. I’ll take the quiet over the ionic any day. My hunch is that “ionic” doesn’t really do anything and it mostly marketing hype. But that’s just my opinion!

I’m 48yo; you can imagine how many blow dryers I’ve been through. I bought one of these for my daughter when she went to college and finally got one for myself. It’s super quiet (no more roaring by my head every morning) and somehow dries my hair in nearly half the time of other dryers. Highly recommended.

I like that this hair dryer is so much lighter
than the one I had previously. That’s pretty
important, considering how long you have to hold
your arm up while you dry your hair! The compact
fold is also very nice, as I can travel with it.
It advertises as a quiet blowdryer, and while it is
certainly quieter than my last one, I don’t think
my husband would sleep through it. I am pretty low
maintenance and do not use anything but the high
setting, but it does have multiple settings and comes
with a couple attachments. Plus, it looks sleek

I purchased two of these hair dryers (not from this website). The handle got hot on the first one so I exchanged it. The handle gets hot on the second one also. Conair expects the consumer to pay for shipping for their defective product.

I bought this dryer to replace my older blue model (which no longer turns off when you slide it to the off position!). It functions but overheats within a minute of use so I spend a great deal of time waiting for my dryer to cool down! This is the third time in a row I have had a problem with a Conair dryer (the one I had before the blue dryer started smoking and I was afraid it would catch on fire). I could send back my current dryer which is under warranty but I would have to pay postage to send the malfunctioning dryer to Conair as well as return postage for the replacement. I have used Conair appliances for years but I no longer have faith in their quality. And I think a company that makes the customer pay for postage when their product is defective has little regard for their customers.
