The Conair brand products generally work well and this product is not an exception. It straightens quickly and quite well for having such small plates. The one con that I can reckon of is that it doesn’t have a comb attachment, which speeds up straightening and makes your hair a lot smoother. It’s a fantastic tool nonetheless.

I bought this flat iron for my teenage daughter upon her request. I was worried that it would be cheaply made, but it really works really well. I like that you can adjust the heat setting. My daughter uses it often and likes it. I highly recommend this product….and it’s nice that part of the sale goes to fight breast cancer.

This is an awesome straightener. You get your money’s worth. I’ve tried BED HEAD’s straightener which can cost more than $100 and it doesn’t work as fantastic as this straightener. I bought an bonus one since I like it so much. GREAT BUY.

After reading many many enthusiastic reviews about this flat iron I resolute to give it a try. I have long very curly biracial hair that’s thick but not coarse (Type 3B). For me, this flat iron works *really well.* This is my first flat iron buy and I did TONS of googling before buying this one.

PROS:(1) It’s crazy inexpensive! (2) A buttload of temp settings – most I’ll by no means use (3) It gets hot quick, and reaches very high temps so that I only have to do one or two passes over any 1 – 1.5 in section of hair.(4) It’s super lightweight so my arms by no means get exhausted during the ~40 minute straightening process. And (5) the cord swivels out of the way which is a nice feature. (6) Can do some minimal styling like curling hair ends and adding wave.

Now for the CONS: (1) the plates are only ceramic coated. I’ve exposed (after much internet research and talking to my artist) that this means two things: first, they doubtless won’t last very long, especially if consistently used at very high temps. Second, Your hair will get snagged more often and this will increase over time as the ceramic gets ‘pitted’ (2) You doubtless wont ever really get that “salon straightened shine” without by tons of silicone-based products. Now, I have nothing against silicone products and I use them all the time, but they will accumulate heavily in your hair and washing them out results in ‘stripping’ your hair (since of the bonds silicone forms with the proteins in your hair) and that means duller more straightforwardly hurt hair in the long run. BUT – all you have to do is place back in the silicon and, viola, smooth and shiny again. If this vicious cycle is not for you, then you should know that unless you have titanium or full ceramic plates you’re flat-ironed hair isn’t going to be super shiny. (3) Will not straighten damp or wet hair (but most flat irons don’t do this so no biggie).

Overall, brilliant buy but buy knowing that you’re not going to get the Hope diamond of flat irons.

I bought this item only for my Europe trip since it’s a dual power. Although it was not as excellent, straighten my hair out smoothly, like my Chi, but I really didn’t expect it to, but it worked fantastic. It did take longer and a few more runs through my hair, but for the price and for the sized it was a fantastic buy and well worth it. I would definatly recommend this product for it’s ease in use and price!
