In this post I list four ways to curl your hair. Of course, there are many ways to curl one’s hair but I believe these are the four the main ways to do it. I have only highlighted three ways but you could read more in the full article.
Method One: Using a Curling Iron or Straightener
Start with completely dry hair. Putting a hot iron on damp hair can seriously damage it — not because the iron is too hot, but because the water will turn to scalding steam. Play it safe, and completely dry your hair first. Run a blowdryer over any damp spots. If your hair is still wet but you want it curled now, skip to Method Two for a better way
Method Two: Using Hot Rollers
Make sure your hair is dry. Dry hair will hold curls better than damp hair. Additionally, you might end up with weird crimps from the pins if your hair is even a little wet.
- Run a blowdryer through your hair if you’re not sure. If you’re concerned about heat damage, just switch the heat setting to cool — it’ll still catch any small damp spots.
Start at the bottom. Clip up the top section of your hair, and put your first round of rollers into the hair that’s at the bottom of your scalp. It’ll make it a lot easier to get clean, evenly-sectioned curls (especially if it’s your first time).
Using your thumbs, grab everything that’s above the top of your ears and clip it up on top of your head.
Release upper sections as you work. When the bottom section of hair is finished, unclip your hair and let out a little more, clipping up the excess again. Continue working this way until all your hair is curled.
Method Three: Using Braids.
