This is a professional hair dryer available to the public. The Solano dryers hold up with heavy use and will last for years, but likely a decade or more with care. If the product gets hurt or has tribulations, Solano has repair centers where they can be fixed. If it is a manufacturing problem, they pay for it. I currently own the Super Solano and couldn’t be more pleased.

To the lady who said hers just wore out. That by no means needs to happen. RBI Distributors in Skokie, Il, the distributor for Solano here in the U.S. will completely repair and refurbish any Solano, working or not for about $30. I have had it done on a few occasions (ancient wiring, heating element won’t work, etc.) and they have a quick turnaround and fantastic customer service. The digit to call is (847) 675-0087. Fantastic product and now you know how to keep it working!

My husband bought this as a Christmas gift for me (ok..so I may have emailed him the exact link but that’s besides the point) and I am very, very satisfied with how it performs. I always looked at drying my hair as a tedious chore but now I nearly look forward to that part of my day, given the fact that my hair ends up looking so nice by the time I am through wielding this small baby.
PROS:
HEAT-
This sucker gets hot! It has multiple temperature settings but I ordinarily leave it on the hottest setting. The fact that it can get so hot helps cut down the drying time significantly and it adds a nice shine to your hair (just be careful not to hold it in one spot for too long…ouch!). There is also a cold-air button that instantly blows out cold air (admittedly, a feature that most dryers have..but this is an instant temperature change and the air is COLD).
POWER-
This dyer is extremely powerful..noticeably more so than any dryer I’ve ever owned. I couldn’t believe how quickly it dried my hair the first time I tried it out.
QUIETER THAN MOST DRYERS-
One thing I noticed straight away is how silent the dryer is. In fact, I didn’t reckon I had it on the highest setting since I was so used to my last dyer being a roaring machine. Turned out, it really is that silent!
ATTACHMENTS-
Both attachments are really nice..particularly the gold nozzle attachment. It concentrates the air spill and really helps to smooth any frizzies you may have. Note..this attachment gets extremely hot so do NOT upset it with your bare hands right after use. The other attachment is a similar concentrator nozzle but it’s black plastic and does not get quite as hot.
CONS:
PRICE-
This dryer is decidedly high-priced..although I reckon if you search around, you can find it for less than $75 and I reckon it’s worth it.
WEIGHT-
The fact that this dryer is powerful and well constructed also means that it is pretty heavy. But I have severe back tribulations and this dryer isn’t so heavy that it’s uncomfortable for me to use.

This is really one of the best hair dryers on the market. I have had mine for 10 years and its still alive and well. Its a high powered Hair dryer that is used by professionals. It is fantastic for straightening and smoothing curly/straight hair. I would suggest that keeping it away from your scalp so as not to burn yourself…

It’s right. I bought this for my Mom after I’ve had one for 12 years. My Mom’s ancient one finally broke and she’s had it for 22 years. These things are the tanks of the industry. Yes, its expensive but unlike crappy cheap dryers, this one will NEVER get too hot and fry your hair. When I go to my sister’s house and have to use her dreadful small drugstore dryer, it just keeps getting hotter & hotter and has no power at all–UGH! The SS is the Mercedes Benz of hair dryers. I like it. Did I say that already? I’ll say it again, LOVE IT!
